课程基本介绍:

       随着高等教育国际化时代的到来,越来越多的学生选择出国留学或者继续在国内深造,这都需要他们具备一定的学术英语能力和基本学术素养。《通用学术英语(技能篇)》MOOC以社会文化理论中的“概念教学法”为指导开展部分课程设计,定位于为学生今后开展专业学习提供语言支撑,教会学生如何用英语汲取和交流专业信息,为今后他们在专业领域开展国际交流奠定基础。


      “通用学术英语”的学习不需要学生具备专业的背景知识,课程中讲授的是学术英语中核心的听、说、读、写技能如下图所示:

         这些学术英语技能和素养都是大学生在国内外完成高等教育和开展研究所必须具备的基本能力,批判性思维和科学思维的培养也是该课程的目标之一,因此它适合所有的大学本科学生或者是学术英语素养较弱的研究生以及打算继续在国内外深造的高中生学习。


课程育人目标:

       本课程的育人总目标是在提升学生学术英语核心素养的过程中帮助他们形成科学的思维观、丰富表达的思想性、促进视野的国际化、提升正确的价值判断和选择能力,在培养学生学术英语能力的同时涵养他们兼容并蓄的胸怀和家国情怀,提升“中国表达”的能力和对“中国文化与制度”的自信。

       本慕课教学团队成员具有丰富的学术英语教学经验,全部具有长期海外留学或者访学经历,本团队2021年获批陕西省首批“课程思政示范课程及课程思政教学团队”。团队成员教学水平突出,近年来,获得省级以上教学竞赛奖30余项,其中包括国家级特等奖、一等奖在内的国家级教学竞赛奖项8项,省级特等奖、一等奖在内的省级教学竞赛奖项20余项。

        团队成员积极开展相关教学研究,发表了  “通用学术英语混合式教学活动系统的评估模型构建”(《外语界》2021第4期)等高水平论文,编写了《通用学术英语》教材(西安交通大学出版社,2021),自主研发了“学术英语听力动态评估系统”等,积极践行“教研结合,以研促教”的理念。
