《新目标大学英语思政微慕课》系列课程由湖南大学外国语学院刘正光教授为总负责人，《新目标大学英语综合教程》主要编写教师负责制作。课程以立德树人为根本任务，注重爱国情怀及格局培养。在《新目标大学英语综合教程》单元主题、文本内容及练习设计基础上，结合慕课的系统性和微课的主题性，课程每单元提炼出主题思想和思政目标，五个微课视频各体现单元主题的一个内涵，在透彻文本分析的基础上，提炼主题逻辑和相关语言能力，实现单元价值引领、知识传授及能力培养总目标。《新目标大学英语思政微慕课》（2）的思政总体目标为：弘扬中国传统文化，融合技术与人文精神，赋能国家建设，共建人类未来。
