《新目标大学英语思政微慕课》系列课程由湖南大学外国语学院刘正光教授为总负责人，《新目标大学英语综合教程》主要编写教师负责制作。课程以立德树人为根本任务，注重爱国情怀及格局培养。在《新目标大学英语综合教程》单元主题、文本内容及练习设计基础上，结合慕课的系统性和微课的主题性，课程每单元提炼出主题思想和思政目标，五个微课视频各体现单元主题的一个内涵，在透彻文本分析的基础上，提炼主题逻辑和相关语言能力，实现单元价值引领、知识传授及能力培养总目标。《新目标大学英语思政微慕课3》的思政总目标为：培养人文情怀，提升品质格局，提高文化素养。
