Overview

综合英语课程以主题为线索,以文化为依托,培养学习者英语应用能力和跨文化交流能力。

课程涵盖了16个经典、有趣和实用的话题, 如种族认同、对青年人的忠告、爱与关怀、食品安全、媒体与文化、态度、和平与冲突等。文化主题包括中国传统节日、茶、中国石窟、绘画、古典文学、瓷器、剪纸、儒学、象棋、书法、古琴、生肖、唐诗宋词等。

每个单元包含四个部分,包括语篇欣赏、语言表达、写作或翻译技巧以及中国文化英译。

课程形式以讲授和访谈结合。采用了基于主题和任务的教学法。

教学团队专业敬业,均拥有海外访学经历和丰富教学经验。主讲教师荣获湖南省高等教育教学成果奖一等奖、湖南省本科英语教学竞赛一等奖、二等奖、中国外语微课大赛湖南省一等奖、全国二等奖、中南大学青年教师讲课一等奖、十佳讲课、十佳课件、十佳教案老师等多项荣誉称号,指导数十名学生荣获全国大学生英语竞赛特等奖、一等奖、指导十多名学生分别荣获全国英语演讲比赛亚军、湖南省英语演讲比赛团体和个人一等奖。
