This course gives an overview of what intelligence is according to the Western and Eastern perspectives. It highlights the role of Yoga in enhancing Intelligence Quotient (IQ) towards overall personality development. Intelligence plays a major role in learning, reasoning, cognition, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication. Adaptability to the environment and ability to learn, understand and deal with new and challenging situations is what is considered to be real intelligence. And, hence IQ development is an area of importance in the progressing and demanding world. The proper understanding of mahat (Universal Intelligence) and its components namely manas, citta, buddhi, and ahamkara will be discussed. Also, the methods of enhancing IQ levels through yogic practices in alignment with individual koshas with scientific evidence are explained.
