Principles of Catalysis

via XuetangX

Overview

“Principles of Catalysis” is the core course of the national key discipline (cultivation) of industrial catalysis China University of Petroleum (East China). After years of research and exploration in teaching, the course team has built a complete set of catalysis principle course system for graduate students of chemical engineering and technology with characteristics of petroleum universities in China for the first time. The general guiding ideology of the course is "facing the needs of disciplines, based on the forefront of science, creating petroleum characteristics, and cultivating international innovation and entrepreneurship talents". We have built a high-level, multidisciplinary, passionate and innovative teaching team, and introduced foreign experts with high academic achievements and innovative spirit to participate in the teaching activities. The course details the structure, composition, working principle and characterization techniques of various catalysts used in petroleum processing, petrochemical industry and natural gas chemical industry in the form of special lectures. Based on the scientific research experience of team teachers, the course team tracked the important progress in the field of catalysis in China and abroad, and wrote teaching textbooks with characteristics of petroleum universities, such as "Nanocatalytic Technology", "Introduction to Catalysis Principles", "Petroleum Processing Catalysts" and "Catalytic Reaction Engineering (I, II)", as teaching reference books. We have cultivated a large number of excellent master and doctoral students by carrying out the teaching of “Principles of Catalysis” course from bilingual high-quality course to all-English course, and the online all-English course has realized the synchronous cultivation of Chinese and foreign graduate students.
