Functional Experiments

Zhengzhou University via XuetangX

Overview

During the training process of medical students, medical experiment courses account for a large proportion, which is a necessary process for students to master theoretical knowledge. Medical theories come from experimental research. Therefore, experimental courses are arranged in addition to theoretical courses. Through project design, experiment operations, observations and analysis of the experimental results, students can verify the knowledge learned in class, deepen the understanding and memory of the medical theories. This can also cultivate the students' ability to think independently, raise good scientific questions, as well as comprehensive analysis of the questions. The pathophysiology experiment is a part of the functional experiment course, which specializes in studying the mechanism of disease and the changes of the body in the process of disease. This course takes experimental animals as the main research object. By observing the basic physiological and biochemical reactions of experimental animals, students can observe and analyze the pathophysiological mechanism of disease, the interference factors, study the general law of disease and verify it. During this process, students are trained to seek truth from facts, rigorous scientific style and strict logical thinking. Students can improve their ability to observe, think and comprehensively analyze the diseases. This will lay a solid foundation for the study of subsequent medical courses.

All virtual experiments are made available by using the most advanced virtual experiment platform and virtual experiment technologies. The website and experiment demonstrations are available in English. The content covers the classical pathophysiology experiments for various medical majors, and corresponding virtual experimental operations will be launched successively. This online course can realize the network-assisted learning and distance learning of pathophysiology from theory to experiment.
