This course will provide students with a comprehensive and in-depth introduction and discussion of the basics of Chinese and Western cultures, including a series of lessons that introduce various concepts, basic facts and cultural comparison, plus exercises that provide opportunities for students to apply what they have learned to real practice.

Goals of the course:
Via this course, students are supposed to know the basic concepts, facts and cultural differences through the comparison between Chinese and Western cultures. Students may find concrete knowledge in the process of learning the contents of the course. In the end, students are expected to understand the reasons of the deeply-rooted differences between Chinese and Western cultures, get to know the historical, geographical and political facts of China and Western countries, and respect the differences between cultures.
