Virtual Empanadas & Margaritas (BYO Materials)

Overview

Roll up your sleeves and dust off your rolling pins for this 2-hour class. We'll make our flaky butter crust, beef (or veggie protein) and vegetable-filling, and then we'll roll the dough and shape the empanadas. 

While they bake, we'll cap the class off with a margarita and cheers!

Materials Required to Participate:

Ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour (For Gluten-Free participants, please use gluten-free flour)
  • Salt
  • Cooking oil
  • Bay leaf, oregano, paprika
  • Tomato paste
  • Stock or water
  • Unsalted butter
  • Egg
  • Ground beef, chicken, or plant-based meat
  • Yellow onion
  • Red pepper
  • Garlic
  • Cilantro
  • Scallions
  • 2 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. orange liqueur (such as Cointreau, Triple Sec, or Grand Marnier)
  • Limes 
  • Simple syrup or agave syrup, optional
  • Coarse sea salt
  • Ice

Tools:

  • Large bowl, food processor, OR stand mixer
  • Rolling pin
  • Ring cutter OR small plate or bowl and paring knife
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Saute pan
  • Cookie sheet
  • Cocktail shaker (or two glasses)
  • Drinking glass
