Southwest Medical University via XuetangX

Overview

Tuina is a traditional Chinese medicine external treatment method that applies manipulations to acupoints, body parts, or the joints of patients under the guidance of TCM theory, in order to prevent and treat diseases. It is a form of external treatment commonly used in clinical TCM practice. This course provides a detailed introduction to the basic manipulations of Tuina and the diagnosis and treatment of common orthopedic diseases. The explanations are clear, comprehensive, and vivid, helping learners establish a framework for studying Tuina and acquire practical operating skills. After explaining the manipulations in an easy-to-understand manner, the course uses demonstrations to visually showcase the manipulations, helping learners grasp the essentials of various manipulations. In recent years, the Chinese government has strongly supported the TCM industry. As a treatment method without side effects or trauma, Tuina has gradually gained acceptance among the public. This course aims to integrate and present an overview of Tuina in a concise and clear manner. It is divided into several parts: the first part introduces the origin and development of Tuina, the second part covers the basic knowledge of Tuina, the third part introduces the basic manipulations of Tuina, and the fourth part focuses on Tuina treatment for common orthopedic diseases, explaining them in conjunction with the principles of the diseases to deepen students’ understanding. The instructors of this course have taught at Southwest Medical University for many years and have rich teaching experience. The offline “Tuina” course offered at the university has received unanimous praise from students. The teaching methods include online videos, unit tests, and final assessments.
