Overview

Petroleum is the key energy and strategic materials in the world. How to economically develop the oil and gas reservoir is the main task of petroleum engineers. This course is foundation course for the majors of petroleum engineering and offshore oil and gas engineering. This course has 56 teaching hours for 3.5 credits.

This course includes 4 chapters, which are properties of reservoir fluids, properties of reservoir rocks, properties of porous medium containing multiple fluids and fundamentals of enhanced oil recovery.

The course was founded in China University of Petroleum from 1955. With the development more than 60 years, the course was rewarded  “Shandong Provincial Excellent Course” from 2008, “Shandong Provincial Demonstration Course in Bilingual Teaching” from 2009, “National Brand Course in English for International Students” from 2013.

From 2001, this course was taught bilingually for Chinese students and taught in English for international students from 2008. The textbook is the first textbook in English in China and was chosen as the national planned textbook from the 12th five-year.

Study this course. The course is extremely valuable in equipping with you basis concepts and methods for your follow-up courses study and strong foundations for your future career in petroleum industry.
