"Fundamental of Material Sciences" is an important professional foundation course for the major of Materials Science and Engineering, and is a top-class course in Liaoning Province. The course systematically and comprehensively introduces the basic theoretical knowledge of materials science, mainly studying the mutual relationship and change laws between the composition, structure and performance of materials. The content includes the crystal structure of materials, crystal structure defects, diffusion in solids, phase diagrams and the theory of solidification, deformation and recrystallization. It provides basic knowledge and theoretical foundation of materials science for the subsequent study of materials science and engineering professional courses and scientific research.
Through the study of "Fundamental of Material Sciences" course, students can obtain basic concepts and theories of materials science, and acquire the ability to analyze and solve problems and explore new knowledge. They can also apply the basic theoretical knowledge of materials science to recognize and analyze the relationship between the composition, organization, preparation process and material properties and applications of materials, and lay a good foundation for subsequent research and development of materials.
