In recent years, it has become normal for teachers and students in medical colleges, researchers in medical research institutions and medical workers to write and publish scientific research papers in English. Structure layout of SCI papers, arguments on logic and language expression has its specific requirements, but because of English as a second language, although the authors of the paper have mostly had more than a decade, even longer experience of English learning, but expressed in standard academic English language writing ability is still poor, and even express mistakes, Resulting in rejection and publication of the paper.
The purpose of this course is to systematically and carefully introduce the characteristics of academic English language, so as to provide substantive language help for scholars writing medical papers to publish more and better academic articles in various SCI journals. The course consists of three parts. The first part is about the writing style of SCI academic paper vocabulary, sentence and paragraph, including how to choose words clearly, accurately and succinctly. How well the sentence is expressed; How paragraphs are logical. The second part is the function and structure of the abstract, title, introduction, method, result, discussion and the characteristics of language organization in SCI academic papers. The third part is the introduction and characteristic summary of the chart. The course also introduces many instructive practical cases from the BMJ, JAMA, Lancet and NEJM journals.
This course is applicable to medical (pharmaceutical) universities, biomedical research units, medical institutions at all levels, teaching, research staff, graduate students, medical students.
