“Advanced College English” course takes college academic English as the main teaching content, adopts task-based teaching method, and cultivates learners ' ability to learn and use general academic English. This course is aimed at advanced students with good English foundation and strong comprehensive quality. The course refines academic English skills into 40 knowledge points, and decomposes and explains them according to the four modules of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and cooperates with after-class exercises to practice skills. The course is 2 hours per week and completed within 15 weeks.
Through this course, students can read academic texts with medium difficulty, accurately extract information, master the skills of consulting academic materials and analyze, summarize and sort out the materials. Can better complete academic speech, master various speech skills and auxiliary tools, accurate and appropriate to express their views and opinions, agree or refute the views of others ; can use mind mapping, outline, abbreviation and other skills to record, summarize and summarize the content of academic lectures ; understand the structure, writing norms and skills of academic text writing, and be able to write academic papers and support arguments in the correct style. In terms of the cultivation of critical thinking ability, students will learn how to analyze and evaluate the acquired information, explore in depth, be objective and rational, and cultivate the ability and habit of independent thinking.
