This course is divided into two parts, eight lectures and 32 lessons. In view of the difficulties and key points in Chinese-English translation, we learn how to avoid Chinglish and translate specific Chinese expressions. The first part focuses on the analysis of common Chinese expression errors in Chinese-English translation, which is divided into four chapters : 1.reduncancy, 2.repetition, 3.sentence structure and 4.logic in translation.
The second part focuses on specific Chinese expressions, including lexical phrases, fixed sentence patterns and expressions related to Chinese culture. It consists of four chapters : 1. the translation of Chinese idioms and proverbs, 2. the translation of common sentence patterns, 3. the translation of text and 4. semantic correspondence in translation.
Each lecture is followed by exercises for learners to practice, in order to consolidate what they have learned and put it into practice.
