In an instant, the achievements of a thousand years, the vastness of a nation within a square inch; three to five steps encompassing the entire world, a force of six to seven people as mighty as a million; generals, statesmen, upholding tradition, and creating innovation, these series of couplets on the traditional stage convey the charm of traditional Chinese opera! Beijing Opera is the quintessence of China and a fine traditional Chinese culture. In the treasure trove of traditional Chinese opera art, Beijing Opera stands out and has always been loved by the Chinese people. Enthusiasts of Beijing Opera can be found throughout the country and even beyond. Appreciating Beijing Opera requires certain related knowledge; it is the key to unlocking the treasury of art. After repeated discussions and research with relevant experts and conducting surveys and discussions with numerous opera fans, we have carefully planned this course. The lecturers are all Beijing Opera teachers from the Drama Department of Hebei Vocational Art College. They have a good teaching level and practical experience and also have an understanding of the needs of opera fans and enthusiasts. In order to introduce all of you to Beijing Opera, our course will be based on the traditional classic repertoire Sit in the Palace. The course aims to popularize and promote knowledge of Beijing Opera. This course provides extensive and detailed explanations of various aspects, including text, lines, plot, costumes, a combination of tune and vocal styles, and appreciation of the repertoire. The goal is to comprehensively analyze a complete play, allowing everyone to have a comprehensive understanding of this art form. Beijing Opera is part of Chinese culture. Through this course, we will lead you to appreciate the artistic charm of Beijing Opera while learning its basic knowledge and experiencing its literary value. It provides an opportunity for participants to approach and understand Beijing Opera from a different perspective.
