Overview

Nowadays, food is of paramount importance to the national welfare and people's livelihood. There is a growing concern about healthy food and food safety. Our needs about food are more than satisfying hunger, but keeping fit and maintaining beauty. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, food is closely linked with medical science. Food can provide various nutrients for the growth and health of lives, keep us healthy, and help us achieve the best physical condition. Thus, food can bring us health, bring us beauty, and bring us happiness. Food can be used as medicine. The core content of our course is about dietetic therapy.

This course will guide you to enjoy the delicacies, appreciate the magic of traditional Chinese medicated diet, and find out the secret of health maintenance of five zang viscera.

Learning with us, you will have the basic knowledge of theory of traditional Chinese medicine about the Five Zang Viscera, and find out their health status. We will help you to master the four properties and five flavours, indication, contraindication, and applicable population of Chinese medicine, vegetables and fruits, and will show you how to choose the food with certain effects of health protection or treatment based on different physical conditions or states of illness, and prepare an excellent diet for dietetic therapy by reasonable cooking. We will correct the misunderstanding of health maintenance, promote scientific Chinese medicated diet, and guide you a healthy lifestyle.

In this new semester, with the pandemic of COVID-19, we have added epidemic prevention topics and discussion topics in the chapter content and discussion area. You are welcome to join us and learn to cook Chinese medicated diet, to take care of our five zang viscera and to keep health.
