This course is being constructed as a first-class open course in the school, and has been taught on campus for five years. The course has a wide range of topics, including the occasion and theme of speeches, speech techniques and methods, conveying information and persuading others, cross-cultural communication, nonverbal communication, language meaning, listening to feedback and dialectical thinking, building interpersonal relationships, teamwork for decision-making and problem-solving, leadership skills and conflict resolution, etc. A large number of practical examples and vivid and realistic short videos allow students to learn and practice in person, effectively mastering the most advanced communication and communication methods today. Students can learn a lot of knowledge that has guiding significance and practical value for their future career development or interpersonal relationship construction. It has been deeply loved and welcomed by students so far, and has cultivated a large number of outstanding students who have won awards in various national and provincial English speech competitions, or participated in international academic conferences, seminars, speeches, and volunteer work.
Compared to similar courses abroad, this course has added more examples and analysis, combined with information technology, adopting a teaching model that combines reinforcement training and situational simulation, and adding more student collaborative task exercises. It also emphasizes the combination of theory and practice, which is in line with the nature and characteristics of the course and reflects its practicality. At present, the teaching experience of the course team only comes from face-to-face interactive classroom teaching with students. After the course is run, the teaching team will make full use of cloud computing, Big data mining and other means to analyze the learning effect and learning needs of students in MOOC, find potential problems in the learning process of students, and make timely and dynamic adjustments to the teaching content arrangement and evaluation methods, And predict potential dropout points for learners through learning analysis techniques, intervene in a timely manner, and urge learners to complete the course.
