一、课程背景 

《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要(2010-2020年》指出,要“培养大批具有国际视野、通晓国际规则、能够参与国际事务和国际竞争的国际化人才”。《大学英语教学指南》(2017) 指出,高校开设大学英语课程,一方面是满足国家战略需求,为国家改革开放和经济社会发展服务,另一方面,是满足学生专业学习、国际交流、继续深造、工作就业等方面的需要。大学英语课程对大学生的未来发展具有现实意义和长远影响,学习英语有助于学生树立世界眼光,培养国际意识,提高人文素养,同时为知识创新、潜能发挥和全面发展提供一个基本工具,为迎应全球化时代的挑战和机遇做好准备。对于医学院校学生来说, 英语课程不仅要为一学生打下坚实的语言基础, 还要考虑如何满足医学生的专业英语学习需求,要培养学生的一般英语生存能力,还要培养医学生的专业英语生存能力。没有专业英语生存能力,医学生毕业后很难适应今后的专业学习和未来工作需要。 《高级医学英语》课程以高层次医学人才培养为目标,以医学生专业语言产出能力为中心,以与医学专业学习密切相关的主题为线索,打造满足医学生、医务人员以及医学英语学习爱好者们的慕课学习平台, 为专业英语学习奠定坚实基础。

二、课程特色 《高级医学英语》课程具有如下特色: 

1.围绕价值引领,优化教学内容,实现育人育才目标

   教学内容包括反映中国构建人类卫生健康共同体彰显中国的大国担当,注入中国动力,推动全球合作,是中国为全球抗疫贡献的重要智慧和力量。课程把对医学研究生教育的价值引领与语言课程中的知识传授、能力提升有机融合,进一步拓展医学研究生的国际视野与全球作为,培养医学研究生的创新能力和思辨能力,实现语言教学的育人育才目标。课程充分考虑医学生的专业背景,突出医学院校不同于普通综合性院校的专业特色。课文选取与医学发展、医学伦理等相关的话题,兼顾传统与现代,经久不衰如希波克拉底誓言和胡佛兰德十二箴言,医学生的职业道德、病患救治中的医生权利、患者隐私权、儿童自闭症、实验动物使用中的伦理思考、献血与利他主义、器官移植中的伦理思考、转基因食品的利与弊。

2.围绕语言能力提升,凸显“医文交融”,满足专业发展需求

   本课程以“医文交融”突破公共课程壁垒,转变传统研究生英语课程拘泥于通用语言能力培养范畴,把语言之“形”与医学专业之“核”融于一体,满足“新医科”背景下医学人才成长对专业语言能力的需求。

3. 助力混合式教学,实现深度学习

   本课程使开展与教学内容完全贴合的线上线下融合式教育教学成为可能。线上线下融合式教育教学模式充分调动师生“教”“学”积极性,课前线上教师“引”、学生“动”,课中线下教师“导”、学生“习”,课后线上线下师生“共同思考”,实现语言内容的深度学习。
