Overview
This course is intended to train the volunteers for Palliative care through Yoga. The course is divided into theory and practical. The theory part will give knowledge about Palliative care, and the symptoms targeted in palliative care. It will focus on understanding the yogic view of palliative care, and the similarities between the concept of palliative care and yogic therapy. The course will train the aspirants to understand the mainstream and yogic approach to palliation. It will give a deeper understanding of the yogic concept of disease, suffering, and the Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) to improve the Quality of Life (QOL) and well-being in subjects receiving palliative care. It will also include the importance of spirituality and the role of different streams of yoga in uplifting the overall status of subjects under palliation. The other part of the course will concentrate on practical sessions involving, loosening, Asanas, Pranayama, evolved techniques of yoga, and relaxation.
