This short course is a German-Australian collaboration developed in response to the growing need to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to recognise, identify and respond to mental health challenges in themselves and others. The course is primarily for university students and those working in the tertiary education and local community sectors.

Syllabus

Module 1: Mental fitness

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain what mental health is
  • Identify and explain contributing factors to suicide and poor mental health
  • Understand the impact of stress on mental health
  • Understand your own mental fitness

Module 2: Cognitive-behavioural strategies to increase mental fitness

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain why we worry
  • Identify and explain contributing factors to negative thinking
  • Understand how to apply the ABC model

    I don’t like to review courses because I’m no one to review and say this is good and this is bad.
    However I can tell you that with this course I’ve learnt a lot and I liked it very much. It’s accessible and easy and intuitive and you can bring to the ‘real world´ the advices and knowledge they give
