Principles of Interior Design is a core course for the Interior Design major at the School of Design, Hubei College of the Arts. It is a required course. This course integrates knowledge of space, style, shape, ergonomics, material, color, lighting, and more. Through studying this course, students will master the basic principle and design method of interior design, enabling them to use the knowledge to analyze problems encountered in interior design, manage relationship between elements such as function, shape, technology and material, and develop high levels of creativity, comprehensive abilities and problem-solving skills in design.
The faculty team for this course includes:
1.Teacher Fu Qian, Master's degree in Environmental Art Design from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, Lecturer, specializing in interior design teaching, environmental design hand-drawing, etc. With 13 years of teaching experience, she has guided students to win provincial special prize and first prize and national third prize in the Digital Design Dimensions Show, and has edited and published the textbook Techniques of Environmental Design Hand-drawing.
2.Teacher Yuan Yimin, Associate Professor, specializing in plant protection and agricultural pest control. She has guided students to win 8 national and provincial awards.
3.Teacher Shang Longyong, graduated from Hubei University of Technology with a Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Senior International Commercial Art Designer. He has won the Gold Medal in the office space hand-drawing design category at the Asia-Pacific Designers’ Nest Award. He once served as the Vice President of the Art Decoration Committee of the China Furniture & Decoration Chamber of Commerce and has edited and published several professional books and textbooks.
4.Teacher Zhu Sijie, graduated from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts with a Master's degree, Lecturer, teaching courses such as Architectural Drawing and Graphics, Principles of Interior Design and Interior Furnishing Design.
5.Teacher Yang Qian, Master's degree from Hubei University of Technology, School of Art Design. Her professional fields include digital space design, public art design and furnishing design.
6.Teacher Luo Yuanjing, Master's degree in Sculpture from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. His work "May Wind" was showcased at the 2017 Wuhan East Lake Greenway Public Art Park College Students’ Public Art Exhibition.
