Course Introduction:
This course focuses on the training of academic English reading and listening skills, and is structured around two main tasks: fundamental skills and critical thinking skills. The course content is highly practical and targeted, with a clear and progressive structure that delivers noticeable results in practice.
Course Description:
This course consists of 9 main thematic units, covering linguistics, bioethics, business design, zoology, history, chemical engineering, earth science, and materials engineering. Each unit's selected articles and materials are closely related to our daily lives and highly informative, while also closely linked to the leading technological trends in the field, with forward-looking perspectives. Within each unit, training for the two core skills of reading and listening is divided into three parts: Part A, B, and C. Part A focuses on fundamental skills training, including an introduction to the corresponding topic and student discussion sessions; Part B emphasizes critical thinking skills training, with interviews with foreign scholars on the corresponding topic; and Part C weights on extending and improving students' knowledge and skills outside of class, including academic soft skills, topic discussions, and unit tests. The three parts progress step by step, providing assistance to students from the three aspects of knowledge, ability, and emotion.
