本课程的设置充分考虑三个层面的训练和反馈:首先,精选优质语言输入材料。在词组和句型层面选取英美主流媒体地道优美的正式书面语材料;内容层面注重普遍性和全球性,因此话题选取了当代学生面临和思考的五个主要问题,即教育与就业、性别平等、旅行的要义、慕课以及家庭教育等;其次,练习和任务设计力图将语言表达和思维训练相结合。比如:要求学生就课文提问并用自己的话来回答(paraphrase),训练学生提问能力,同时训练地道英文表达;用自己的话写摘要(summary),训练总结概括和篇章组织结构能力。这些训练将语言表达和认知思维层面融为一体。最后,在评估反馈方面,本课程强调教师的示范作用。在线写作课的批改量大到不切实际,本课程针对这一实际情况,提供了写作课反馈的折中最优方案。本课程的每个练习都配有教师自己编写创作的参考问题和回答,以及参考范文。这样学生可以将自己的作业与这些范例和范文相对照,通过这种方式给予学生充分、持续、靶向性的反馈。另外,借助在线平台的便利,专设助教辅导答疑环节,以确保学生的问题能够及时得到解答与反馈。
