February is Black History month! But why should learning Black history be limited to just February?
African Americans have played a pivotal role in the history of the United States. Unfortunately, many of these amazing accomplishments are not mentioned in most history books or taught in schools. It's time to acknowledge these achievements!
This series of courses will will give parents of all races a great opportunity to expose their kids to many great stories and events that are often overlooked in traditional learning environments. The more we know about each other, the better off we will be as people.
In this course, students will have the following experiences:
Learn about some of the incredible inventions, milestones and achievements made by people of color
Hear about their upbringing and what inspired them to achieve greatness
Inspiration for students to become the best you can be
Destroying the stereotype that people of color didn't make positive contributions to society
Excellent teaching moments and discussions between parents and their children
Fun, interactive crafts after each session
Learning about the contributions of others in this country is critical to helping us unite as one. To ignore the positive contributions of others in society does a disservice to us all.
This course allows everyone to celebrate their lives and their ability to succeed against seemingly impossible odds.
Some of the information in the course may be surprising. People might question the validity of the information and say "Did they really do that!" Yes, they did!
