What you'll learn:
- Understand several options when working with UVs for 3d
- Make an educated decision on which of these 4 softwares are right for them
In this course, Stephen Wells is going to examine four of the more popular stand alone UV unwrappers (Roadkill, Unfold 3D, 3D Coat and Headus UV Layout) and run them through their paces. Although several of the programs can do more than unwrap UVs for meshes, we will only be focusing on the basic unwrapping. To be a fair comparison, we'll unwrap the same three models in each individual program to see how easy or difficult each program is. We'll unwrap both organic and hard surface models for comparison using the basic UV unwrapping capabilities of each program. As we work, we'll ultimately be able to see the strengths and faults of each program and see which of the four programs is fastest at unwrapping a full 3D character model.
