Overview
ABOUT THE COURSE :Sports Nutrition is a branch of Nutritional Science that deals with the interaction of human nutrition with exercise performance. Through this course, we aim to connect physical activity, nutrition and health by translating the nutritional goals of an athlete into dietary strategies. By completing the course, you’d have a basic understanding of how nutrients can be manipulated to boost performance and how to incorporate traditional and Indian cuisine into sports nutrition.Course objective To help participants understand the basics of nutrition for improving sports and exercise capacity. To gain scientific considerations for manipulating macros - carbohydrates, proteins, fats to peak performanceTo learn about the role of micronutrients to prevent illness and to enhance immunity to support athletic abilitiesTo learn about the regulation of fluids and electrolytes to suit the type of training, and competition. To understand evidence-based food choices for recovery from exercise and to prevent injuries in athletesTo understand safe and scientific supplement protocolTo apply concepts for Indian athletes and cuisine, understanding food safety and hygieneINTENDED AUDIENCE : S & C coaches, physical education teachers, fitness trainers, dietitians, nutritionists, physiotherapists, doctors, gym instructors, nutrition studentsPREREQUISITES : Science backgroundINDUSTRY SUPPORT : Fitness, gym, sports academies
