ABOUT THE COURSE: Traditionally, due to aggregation of large number of loads, it has been assumed that the loads drawn from the transmission network are largely balanced. However, due to increasing adoption of electric mobility (AC electric railway, electric vehicles etc.), considerable level of unbalanced loads can be drawn from the transmission network. Therefore, the traditional balanced approach for analyzing a transmission network may not be very effective analyzing an unbalanced three phase power network. In this course, modeling, analysis and quasi-steady state estimation of an unbalanced three phase power network would be discussed.PREREQUISITES: All compulsory UG courses on Electrical Power System and also the course on “Computer Aided Power System Analysis” available in NPTEL.INDUSTRY SUPPORT: Any company engaged in Power transmission/distribution as well as any company engaged ndevelopment of Power System analysis Software.
