Do you want to create engaging, cinematic videos? Then cinematic b-roll shots should be included in your video! B-roll is used for setting the scene and creating context, atmosphere, and depth. A must have in your video! And no worries, you don’t need fancy equipment to make them, you just need your camera and a camera strap!
What you will learn
In this class you will learn basic camera movements to get cinematic footage and videos. I will explain you camera handling techniques with lots of real-life examples! I will make sure every step is clear to you. After finishes the class, I am sure you can make a cinematic video to be proud on!
 Structure of the class
- Equipment needed: Just what I said before: you just need your camera and a camera strap!
- Camera settings: Before going into filming, I want you to know a few things about what camera settings you need to use to get those cinematic shots. Settings might sound a bit boring, but it is really important!
- Wide angle shots: Wide angle shots are also known as the establishing shots. It tells the viewers of your video the whole story of the subject. You will learn how to hold the camera, how to use the camera strap and I will give many examples of wide angle shots: push in, push out, pan top to bottom, pan bottom to top, low angle shots and slide shots.
- Medium angle shots: Medium shots are great to capture both the details of the subject and their surroundings. You will learn about reveal shots, moving up and down and how to move your body.
- Close-up shots: A close-up shot adds emotion to your video. You will learn about the minor movements you have to make, reveal shots, slide shots and static shots.
