History of Maternal and Child Health

George Washington University via edX

Overview

Women's health and maternal and child health represents an important but often overlooked role in the broader context of public health history. Historical, social, cultural views of women’s roles have influenced women’s health and healthcare access. They have also contributed to the health inequities experienced by women and MCH populations globally. We will discuss how these historical contexts continue to manifest and influence equitable health care access and utilization for women, youth, and children.
