Overview

Examines major physical, psychosocial, cognitive, language, and brain developmental processes of human development from prenatal through adolescence in contemporary, historical, and geographical settings. Emphasis on interactions between developmental theory, research methodologies, maturational/biological processes, environmental factors, and social areas of development through a culturally sensitive framework. According to human developmental theories, students observe children and analyze their behaviors and characteristics of development related to learning, temperament, social roles, relationships, and adjustment at various stages. Meets Title 22 and Title V requirements for the Child Development Permit. TB test, interviews and on-campus observations required.
