Interest in the human body is quite universal, ranging from young children to the elderly, and thus, the level of understanding required can vary greatly. This course is Season 2 of Basic Anatomy for Everyone, first introduced in 2023, and the main topics are Bones and Muscles. While primarily designed for students in health-related fields, such as dentistry, medicine, and nursing, as well as all students in biomedical disciplines, it also caters to the general public with no prior knowledge. Based on this need, the course includes content that is accessible even to complete beginners. Specifically, the introductory section weaves interesting stories from the humanities, social sciences, arts, and sports into the science of the human body, making it approachable for laypersons and novices. At the same time, the main body of the lecture provides in-depth anatomical knowledge, ensuring that it is by no means too basic for an introductory anatomy lecture. The course concludes with simple quizzes and a final exam to test your understanding of the material covered.
The human body consists of 11 organ systems. The Bones and Muscles covered in this course pertain to the musculoskeletal system, an approach in systemic anatomy. In other words, it focuses on the skeletal system and the muscular system, which are major topics in traditional anatomy and are closely related to daily life and physical activity. The course is equally divided into four sessions each for these two systems.
So, following Season 1 on the Head and Neck, are you ready to dive deeper into the study of Bones and Muscles?
