Released in June 2021, the Creativity and AI Specialization explores what it means to be creative in the 21st century. Through a hands-on approach, you will discover the creative potential of AI and learn design methods to expand your creative capacity. These courses are designed for those with technical backgrounds who want to look at their fields from a new perspective and those in creative professions who want to better understand AI and its implications in their industries.

Released in June 2021, Artificial Creativity explores the emerging field of creativity in artificial intelligence (AI) from a design perspective, bringing together insights from computer science and creative disciplines. In this course, you will survey the history and theories behind today's creative AI, analyze the unorthodox approaches that have advanced the field, and experience cutting-edge creative AI tools. At the same time, you will learn design thinking research methods, how to implement them for your creative insights, and how to translate them to professional and business contexts. Throughout the course, you will step away from your computer to conduct design research, applying the techniques and theories you learn each week to a topic of your choice. You will also engage with other learners through discussions while challenging and expanding your understanding of creativity.

Released in June 2021, Creative Artifacts explores how different tools and structures can be used to increase creativity through a multidisciplinary lens. You will see how renowned artists use machine learning to expand their creative capacities, and you will gain experience collaborating with creative AI tools yourself. On a macro scale, you will examine the business strategies and economic policies that make organizations and regions more creative. As you progress, you will reflect on how these tools and structures can enhance your creativity and how they might impact the larger society. Throughout the course, you will manage your own design research project and gain new insights that can translate into actionable, innovative business initiatives.

Released in June 2021, Natural Creativity is about understanding and harnessing human creativity. In this course, you will investigate the latest theories of human creativity, its history and evolution, and how AI research is helping us understand it more fully. You will gain a deeper awareness of your creative processes and inspirations through these diverse perspectives. As you advance through the course, you will add to your creative toolkit by exploring different methods for design research and applying them to various business scenarios and frameworks. Then, in the course project, you will practice using the techniques and theories you learned to gain deep insights into how people are creative in your local context.
