Overview

Description Grab your favorite skillet and ask yourself this question: Am I using this pan to its full potential?! If anyone catches you talking to your pan, don’t fret. Explain that you’re about to explore what magic can happen in one simple skillet. We’re talking complete meals that are crammed with protein, vegetables, complex carbs, and more. Asian, Italian, American, Mexican… internationally inspired meals can all be made in one pan, with ingredients found in your favorite local market. This class celebrates the mighty skillet in five mouthwatering ways! Plus, I have many, many tips, techniques, and stories to share along the way! In the first recipe, we whip up a beloved Asian restaurant staple, Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Tender ground chicken, sweet onion, bell pepper, and crisp water chestnuts are married in a skillet and simmered in a sweet and savory peanut sauce. The mixture is then piled into soft lettuce leaves and eaten like a street taco! Next, we’ll build a wholesome Italian chicken meal that will blow your mind. Pan-seared chicken thighs, simmered in thick tomato sauce with fresh broccoli, and blanketed with stretchy mozzarella cheese! Imagine a commingling of chicken parmesan and chicken cacciatore – and it all comes together in one pan. Shanghai Angus steak is our next skillet masterpiece, and the dish features perfectly tender steak, bell peppers, and onions in a sweet, savory, nutty sauce that delivers nuances of sherry and sesame. Since I have a trick for perfectly tender steak, I’m certain this popular Chinese restaurant dish will become a part of your regular recipe rotation. If you love fajitas, you’ll adore the next recipe – Shrimp and Pepper Skillet. The shrimp is perfectly seasoned with my homemade taco seasoning and then pan-seared with onions and bell peppers. And wait until you discover my trick for a smoky glaze for everything! Served in tortillas or over rice, this dish is excellent for any night of the week, whether you’re serving family, or hosting friends. The last recipe in the class is my Skillet Pasta Fagioli (also spelled Pasta e Fagioli, AKA pasta and beans), a wholesome vegetarian meal featuring tender pasta, plump beans, and aromatic vegetables in an herby, satiny, parmesan-spiked tomato sauce. The aroma of this dish brings me straight back to childhood and I’m thrilled to share it with you. Let’s grab our skillets and have some fun whipping up mouthwatering meals with ease!
