Are you ready to take your remote team's productivity and engagement to the next level? By the end of this course, you will be able to: *Identify and implement effective strategies to boost team productivity, prevent task duplication, and ensure task completion. *Enhance engagement in virtual meetings by recognizing and applying techniques to increase participation, re-engage team members, and create a productive and collaborative meeting experience. *Improve email communication by learning tips and tricks for writing effective emails, managing email communication, and recognizing the appropriate use of email versus other communication channels. *Choose the best digital tools for the remote work scenario and identify how they can increase engagement in virtual teams. *Apply core remote leadership concepts from the Remote Leadership for Managers specialization to real-world scenarios.

Syllabus

  • Increase Productivity in a Remote Environment
    • Welcome to Module 1, Increasing Productivity in a Remote Environment. In this module, we will identify actionable strategies to enhance productivity within virtual teams, explore methods to prevent task duplication, and outline how to prevent tasks from falling through the cracks. We will also reflect on our personal experiences with low work productivity and discuss what strategies helped or harmed the situation.
  • Engagement in Virtual Meetings
    • Welcome to Module 2, Engagement in Virtual Meetings. This module will address strategies to increase participation, re-engage team members, and develop guidelines for effective and engaging virtual meetings. We will also discuss our personal experiences in engaging meetings and reflect on what made them successful.
  • Inundated by Emails?
    • Welcome to Module 3, Inundated by Emails? In this module, we will explore tips and tricks for writing effective emails, how to stop emails from dominating your time, and the dos and don’ts of email and texting. We will also learn to recognize what situations would benefit from an email versus another form of communication. We will close the module by listing strategies to improve our personal email communication styles.
  • Collaborate Through Digital Tools
    • Welcome to Module 4, Collaborate Through Digital Tools. This module features a guest interview with esteemed expert Chris Ruoff. We will address various practical digital tools and their applications to enhance engagement and participation within virtual teams and meetings. We will also share our personal tips and tricks for increasing engagement and our favorite remote work digital tools. This module will conclude with a scenario-based, cumulative final exam that covers all topics discussed in courses 1-3 of the Remote Leadership for Managers specialization.
