Overview

Designed for leaders focused on implementing new ideas, staying ahead of the competition and aligning their people, data and technology to drive digital transformation. First, we discuss the pace of change, and its impact, implications and opportunities. Traditional businesses need to rethink their underlying assumptions to create new game plans and capture new opportunities in the digital world. This course not only discusses key digital transformation strategies, trends and impacts, but also spends time on how to integrate these into your existing business and execute on those new game plans.

Syllabus

  • Module 1: INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION - Part 1
    • Designed for leaders focused on implementing new ideas, staying ahead of the competition and aligning their people, data and technology to drive digital transformation. First, we discuss the pace of change, and its impact, implications and opportunities. Traditional businesses need to rethink their underlying assumptions to create new game plans and capture new opportunities in the digital world. This course not only discusses key digital transformation strategies, trends and impacts, but also spends time on how to integrate these into your existing business, and execute on those new game plans. This module’s lessons focus on understanding the concept and forces behind digital transformation. Students will learn to define digital transformation and provide examples, explore the forces driving it and their impacts, and delve into how digital transformation drives convergence, disruption, and strategy. They will also gain insights into technology and knowledge convergence, the phases of disruption, and a strategic framework for digital transformation.
  • Module 2: INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION - Part 2
    • This module's lessons focus on the concepts of disruption and the mindset required for digital transformation. Students will learn to identify disruption and its factors, develop a digital transformation mindset and thinking toolbox, and understand the business capabilities that are both enabled by and driving digital transformation.
  • Module 3: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION THROUGH OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
    • This module's lessons cover the impact and strategic implementation of digital transformation in achieving operational excellence. Students will learn about the effects of digital transformation on the service industry, explore a strategic framework for leveraging digital transformation to enhance operational performance, and examine real-world examples illustrating this process.
  • Module 4: DATA’S ROLE IN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
    • This module's lessons focus on the critical role of data in digital transformation. Students will explore how data contributes to value creation, understand data's value as a strategic asset, and learn to think strategically about data, emphasizing the importance of data quantity, quality, architecture, governance, and team.
  • Module 5: CUSTOMERS AND CUSTOMER ECOSYSTEMS AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
    • This module's lessons delve into the dynamics of customer ecosystems in the digital age. Students will explore how customers function as both digital and physical ecosystems, understand how digital transformation can help organizations attract new customers, and define the organizational challenges associated with managing and innovating within customer ecosystems.
  • Module 6: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION THROUGH INNOVATION AND CREATING NEW VALUE
    • This module's lessons focus on the drivers and processes of innovation in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world. Students will understand how VUCA and digital capabilities drive innovation, define their organization’s approach and processes for both large and small-scale innovation, and explore how external stakeholders can influence, participate and drive internal innovation.
  • Module 7: DIGITAL PLATFORMS EMERGE
    • This week's lessons cover the emergence and impact of digital platforms. Students will define digital platforms, understand how digital technologies drive these platforms globally, and explore the power dynamics and the positive and negative impacts of dominant platforms on society and business.
  • Module 8: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION STRATEGY EXECUTION
    • This module's lessons focus on executing digital transformation effectively. Students will identify key success factors for digital transformation, define the governance, tools, and examples of successful strategy execution, and understand the critical role of risk and change management in ensuring the success of digital transformation initiatives.
  • Summative Course Assessment
    • This module contains the summative course assessment that has been designed to evaluate your understanding of the course material and assess your ability to apply the knowledge you have acquired throughout the course.
