Substance abuse is a factor in 35 percent of injuries and fatalities, 38 percent to 50 percent of all worker's compensation claims, and 40 percent of thefts. Substance abuse is increasing the risks which affect overall job safety and work efficiency. Substance abuse includes, but is not limited to the use of marijuana, heroin, ecstasy, methamphetamine, cocaine, opiates, amphetamine and large amounts of alcohol.The goal of this course is to address substance and alcohol abuse and particularly focus on educating workers on safety and productivity hazards created by the abuse of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace.Please note this course is an awareness level training only and does not provide any other qualification orauthorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.4 Hr Supported Scaffold User DescriptionThis course is required for all workers using supported scaffolds on construction sites in NYC, as per Local Law 52. It explains the basic elements of supported scaffold safety and introduces students to the nature of supported scaffold hazards. Topics include scaffold inspections, recognizing different hazards (e.g. falling, electrical, etc.), & protective equipment. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a picture ID card, valid for 4 years.8 Hr Site Safety Manager Refresher (Chapter 33) DescriptionThe 8 hour Site Safety Manager Refresher course is a refresher to the 40 Hour Site Safety Manager Course and the 8 Hour Site Safety Coordinator Course, which are a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection. This course provides students with safe job practices in New York City.
