Overview

This course examines the relationship between multicultural communities and the justice system. It will explore the interactions between criminal justice practitioners and special populations, including LGBTQIA+, women, the elderly, children, the mentally ill, disabled, and immigrants. Analysis of appropriate actions when responding to special populations will be explored, along with alternatives to the use of force.
