Overview

This course provides training for Ebola awareness and other serious communicable pathogens. Specific focus will be given to operational issues related to addressing infection control and hazard recognition of Ebola and other serious communicable pathogens. This course is ideal for workers who may be at risk for exposure to Ebola and other serious communicable pathogens, including emergency responders and those in public health and other healthcare settings.

OBJECTIVES

 

  • Recognize the principles of occupational safety and health and infection control for working with Ebola and other serious communicable pathogens. The learner will successfully pass at 80% a multiple-choice examination.
  • Identify environmental infection controls and hazards.
  • Identify the skills needed to best manage Ebola and other emerging infectious disease outbreaks.

Instructor

Dr. Isakov joined the Emory University School of Medicine in 2000. He received his MD at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Dr. Isakov is the recipient of Top 50 Peer Reviewers and Senior Reviewer for Annals of Emergency Medicine, Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, Navy and Marine Corps Medal of Commendation.
