Overview

Limitation on Enrollment: Appropriate standing in the ADN program or as approved by the ADN Program Director. This Level 3 course provides a comprehensive review of maternal and newborn nursing. Parent/newborn issues are viewed from a nursing process approach for the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal clients. Coordinated exercises emphasize the development of clinical judgment. The process of recognizing and analyzing cues, prioritization of care, and evaluation of outcomes is applied to a variety of care management scenarios. This course is designed as a review course for learners who have previously successfully completed the full course, including the clinical component, or transfer students who have successfully completed a vocational nursing program and obtained licensure from their state.
