Amazon Web Services

AWS Networking Practical Approaches

Amazon Web Services and Amazon via AWS Skill Builder

Overview

This course is for individuals who seek knowledge of networking on Amazon Web Services (AWS) beyond the foundational level. You will learn approaches to address common networking challenges that encompass networking configurations, routing, bandwidth, latency, and cost. You will explore and analyze scenarios to illustrate network patterns and decisions that impact network operational excellence.

  • Course level: Intermediate
  • Duration: 3 hours

Activities

This course includes written material, videos, and scenario-based deep dives into the application of best practices.

Course objectives

In this course, you will learn to:

  • Examine and predict challenges with traffic flow, transitive routing, and latency in response to updates and changes to single and multi Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) network design.
  • Examine and predict challenges with traffic flow, transitive routing, and latency when bridging AWS and private AWS networking infrastructures.
  • Infer how design decisions and operational changes impact operational excellence and cost optimization.

Intended audience

This course is intended for:

  • Network engineers
  • Enterprise architects
  • Infrastructure architects
  • System operators
  • Software engineers
  • Application architects

Prerequisites

We recommend that learners have:

  • A basic understanding of business networking, including routing technology, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, and network security, and a cursory understanding of Amazon VPC
  • 2 years of networking experience
