Designing Synthesizer Sounds

So, this course is mostly really good. The instructor is clear-speaking and engaging. It's an interesting topic - if you're interested in learning Synthesizers, I haven't found anything that's better than this.

The frustrating thing for me is that it's all based on this single program - a plugin for your DAW - and it's one that I don't want to continue using after the course is done, and it costs money, and even though you get a free trial through the course, if you don't finish the course before the trial is done, it's hard to follow along. A bunch of the things talked about are specifically about the functions of that specific synth program, it's not so abstract and general, so it's kind of hard to follow along with a different program. It's not basic enough that you can easily apply the learnings to any synth program. So I want to ask a million questions along the way but can't really effectively.

But I give this four stars for a reason - other than that big frustration, it is well done and highly professional, and I recommend it if you want to learn synthesis. (just make sure you can finish it before the trial expires!)
