Data Analysis Essentials

Imperial College London via edX

Overview

Want to study for an MBA but unsure of the basic data analysis still required? This online course prepares you for studying in an MBA program and in business generally.

Data analysis appears throughout any rigorous MBA program and in today’s business environment understanding the fundamentals of collecting, presenting, describing and making inferences from data sets is essential for success.

The goal of this course is to teach you fundamental data analysis skills so you are prepared for your MBA study and able to focus your efforts on core MBA curriculum, rather than continually playing catch-up with the underlying statistical knowledge needed.

Already have good knowledge of statistics so this course wasn't too hard. It isn't simple though.

Overall I thought that the material explains quite well the concepts and gives relevant examples to understand the real-life applications.

If you already come from a business or engineering background, it will be more or less easy. Other backgrounds may suffer.

Worst course I have ever gone through on edx. Worst content, no proper explanation and also no course staff support on discussion forum.

Dreadful course, not only just general technical issues using the platform itself but the content is absolutely not what you expect. Firstly the data analysis essentials is entirely misleading about what this course is, it is not essentials, it is hardcore statistical methods. You are given the explanations of a concept, using obscure statistical language that they assume you will know and worked with before and then immediately ask you to apply it to a real world scenario with no step in between examples. The video explainers often come after you having to solve the problem and only some times help. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you have thoroughly looked at every page of this course and know that this will benefit you.

I would not recommend this course. I am not happy with this course.

No explanation about the concepts and calculations used in this course. You will regret to later if you enroll.

Content is too heavy for Essentials. Too technical with no practical explanations. Videos do not really complement the exercises.

Requires learners to have advance statistics background. Listen, this is not for beginners... Final assessment is to difficult that it can even kill you before you finish. Ha!
