It's really unclear what we're supposed to be studying and in what order. The material in the videos is presented in a really odd order: a word is presented, then some aspects of its pronunciation are explained, but the word not repeated. I've studied a good number of languages (French, German, Latin, Greek) before at school, so I've experience with learning languages, but the material presented in this course is done so in a really baffling way. I haven't got a clue how to begin reading the symbols, yet the homework requires recognition of them. Really needs more tips on how to learn the material.

Not a good course for beginners. Also, the teacher has a Taiwanese accent and her pronunciation sounds not standard. Most of time I was listening to non-native speakers talking.

I don’t normally write reviews but the structure and content of this course is too aberrant to ignore. The course is horrible for total beginners, I had to look this site up just to warn anybody who might consider it as a very beginner. I started feeling super unmotivated just a couple of weeks after starting and I was frankly not learning anything useful. Try any other free app or anki deck, that’s what’s working for me right now.

Having taken Mandarin course in college for a year, was searching for some free resource to polish up. I wouldn't recommend this course for beginners. The instruction is very unclear. The material is written by Taiwanese (which is fine) but the simplified Chinese version isn't well-adapted.

Too hard. Presentation of the materials is horrible. And the teacher has a Taiwanese accent. This is actually a course for learners at intermediate levels.

This looks like a great course for anyone interested in learning Mandarin; very easy to understand and aimed at people looking to start/beginners!

Not a course for beginners. The structure is also hard to follow. The course in general seems too 'casual', the grammar and vocabulary don't seem logical
