COURSE OUTLINE: The course offers a specialized study of the Victorian Short Story in relation to the Gothic mode. It will introduce students to the form as it was practiced in Great Britain by great masters of literature such as Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde and H.G.Wells. This course highlights the fact that the Gothic short story was an important and flourishing literary genre in the Victorian period.
