Library Science

This course is good for persons aspiring to be library professionals or gearing up to work on this field either as a tutor or a librarian.

The course teaches about the different classification schemes we have namely Library of Congresss classification scheme which is majorly used in institutions of higher learning e.g Universities.

The classification scheme uses letters to classsify books from letter A-Z with some letters not given their subjects. It also uses the cutter number.

It is also accepted globally as is used in every part of the globe in classifying library materials.

The second one is Deway Decimal classification scheme which is also accepted globally and was created to enable libraries to classify information materials.

The third one is Universal Decimal classification, Just like DDC universal also uses numbers but has a distinction of not using decimals in classifying.

It is commonly used in special libraries, example agricultural libraries, military libraries just but to mention some.

As someone deeply passionate about the realms of information, I enrolled in a Library Science course with high expectations. From the onset, the journey was nothing short of exhilarating, and here's why:

For anyone passionate about the intricacies of information management, this course is an indispensable asset on the path to becoming a proficient librarian.

This was a great learning experience. The videos were really informative and they really have me a practical picture of what library science is . The course was diverse as well as fascinating . It captured where library science came from as well as the morden age of library science. The top topics such as digital library, information literacy and library consortium were covered . These topics allow practical educational development especially from students in 3rd world countries. I would recommend this course to other learner's who believe in lifelong learning just like me !
It is good to take note that this course would be best for students who can concentrate on videos while learning , for those who prefer taking in knowledge through reading it would not be advised .

great Crouse People are treated in a caring manner, with dignity and respect and have positive
relationships with staff. People living in the service, their relatives and visiting health
professionals spoke positively about staff and their caring and understanding approach,
were happy with the care and support provided and told us staff communicate changes in
health quickly and discuss ways in which support can be changed to support individuals
further. However, the written record requires improvement to fully evidence this approach.
Improvements are also needed in relation to other records within the service. The training
programme, in its current form is unclear and details documented relate to core training and
not training that may support specific areas of practice, staff files require auditing to ensure
they contain all required information and records to evidence environmental and equipment
checks should be readily available. The areas for improvement have been discussed with
the RI who has provided details of the actions taken and those proposed.
