Earth - Sedimentology-Stratigraphy

Matthew E. Clapham and University of California, Santa Cruz via YouTube

Overview

Explore a comprehensive video series on sedimentology and stratigraphy, covering topics from fluvial systems to carbonate environments. Delve into sediment transport, bedforms, facies models, sequence stratigraphy, and basin analysis. Examine various depositional environments including alluvial fans, aeolian systems, submarine fans, deep-sea sediments, coastal systems, deltas, and estuaries. Learn about ichnofacies, carbonate processes, ramps, platforms, reefs, and microbial sediments. Gain insights into parasequences, sequence boundaries, and the intricacies of Earth's sedimentary systems through this extensive 5-hour lecture series from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

  • This course helped me a lot in understanding the depositional system of the river which i used to study in my university classes along with the sequence of the deposition. Especially the para sequence, Some of the lacking i would say it doesn't provide clear overview on the mechanism of deep fan sediment deposition. Overall its a handy course to complete
