Comprehensive and easy enough to learn.
Sounds, determinatives, ideograms. It does take a bit of practice to draw the pictograms, but with practice it can be achieved in a single day. Middle Egyptian seems to have evolved in different ways depending on the time period (dynasties) as e.g L letter represented with the "lion" in the late ptolemaic period in words such as Cleopatra and Ptol3my, found on the rosetta stone by Champollion. Of course, greek, demotic was also found and with the help of Coptic sounds came available.
