I have learned there are 3 types of Cardiomyopathy.
Dilated Cardiomyopathy or Congestive Cardiomyopathy, it is balloon shape, both left and right Ventricles are dilated, the Myocardium is dilated and doesn’t contract well and leads to Systolic Failure.
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, Banana shaped. 50% due to Familial, 100% due to Genetic Defect. Due to its shape it obstructs and diminishes blood flow. Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy causes sudden death especially in Athletes. It contracts strongly.
Restrictive Cardiomyopathy has a thickened and firm Myocardium, causing it failure to relaxation. Ventricular Wall is infiltrated. Diastolic failure.
Best way to diagnose is to perform an Echocardiogram

This was really a nice section to understand depper about cardiomyopathies. This is really helpful to find the actual reason behind a person's sudden heart failure and also this relevant knowledge will help me to share these new knowledges to people who are not aware of these abnormalities or disease. The professor explains each points very clearly with drawing and that really makes the session more clear.
