I. Course nature and purpose
This is a basic course of printing engineering for major students. This course introduces the types and composition of the main components of offset press, web flexographic press, gravure press and screen press, and comprehensively analyzes the principles and structures of various presses.
After learning this course, students can master the working principle and basic structure of various printing press, understand the functional composition, structural type and interrelation of each part of the printing press, get familiar with the typical structure and its use and adjustment method, having a certain knowledge about various structure characteristics and their relationship with printing quality and efficiency as well as the preliminary operation ability of printing machine. The teaching purpose of this course is to cultivate students' ability to analyze and solve practical problems by using the theoretical knowledge; to inspire students to adopt printing technology methods to realize innovative thinking of new product development and production, so as to lay a foundation for the follow-up study of specialized courses, as well as the use and design of printing machines.The Principle and Structure of Printing Press is an important basic course of Printing Engineering and Packaging Engineering in Xi'an University of Technology. The course mainly includes the working principle, structural characteristics and design ideas of various parts of modern printing equipment. It helps to train and guide students to carry out comprehensive practice of scientific and technological innovation. II. Teaching objectives
Through analyzing the working principle and basic structure of various printing press, this course reveals the function, structure and relationship among different parts of printing press; demonstrates the typical model and its adjustment methods; analyzes the structure feature of different types of mechanism and their relationship with printing quality and efficiency, and introduces complete knowledge of printing machinery system and basic printing press operation rules and methods. After studying, students can acquire the following abilities: ability to identify and evaluate the key factors and parameters of printing equipment; ability to analyze and solve practical problems with theoretical knowledge; ability to apply engineering and specialized knowledge to design, control and improve printing equipment and digital system; ability to design and innovate the printing application scheme so as to drive new product research development and production method innovation; ability to put the theoretical knowledge into practice in a comprehensive way, to make innovative design for experiments, to cooperate with team members, to make preliminary comment on identifying, analyzing and evaluating the potential impact of new products, new technologies and new processes on society, health, safety, law and culture.
